About the Author

FICTION  POETRY  NONFICTION  PLAYS  BUSINESS

Lindsey Vernon earned her MFA from Fairfield University in 2023 with concentrations in playwriting and fiction. Her creative portfolio includes a play in monologues, a multi-narrative domestic noir novella, and hundreds of flash pieces. Her poetry has appeared in Breakwater Literary Magazine, and her commercial writing has been featured by brands including Disney, ESPN, 3M, and Anthem Blue Cross.

Lindsey has served as Assistant Editor for Brevity Literary Journal and Woodhall Press. Since January 2022, she has captained a weekly flash writing group for fellow Fairfield University alumni. In the fall of 2024, she co-founded Acorn Experiences, a boutique offering continuing education, bespoke writing retreats, craft resources, and a growing community of advanced writers.

New England never fades into the background of Lindsey's work. It surfaces as setting, atmosphere, and antagonist. Thick woods press close. Folklore spreads from hearth to hearth. Quiet shoreline towns hide family secrets. The region imbues her writing with despair and hope—or perhaps it is the generational curse beckoning her back to her hometown whenever she strays for too long.
